Catholic hospitals have been serving California communities and patients for nearly 150 years. During that time, Catholic hospitals have been at the forefront of women's services, especially for poor women. Catholic hospitals have been leaders in their communities providing a range of women’s health services, such as improving access to prenatal care and breast cancer screening, reducing rates of domestic violence, helping women out of poverty and educating women on nutrition.
