A dean is a priest, appointed by the bishop, with certain authority over the common pastoral activities of a specific area of the diocese.  Among his responsibilities are to meet regularly with the bishop; convene monthly meetings of priests within the deanery; visit each parish, INthe deanery; and to mediate, INthe first instance for the bishop, INdeanery matters requiring conciliation, INpriest-priest or priest-lay concerns.   If you have questions regarding Church matters, INyour area, you are encouraged to contact your dean.
